  • There is the Agora bar (just next door to BASKET) which does a great karaoke every night from 10pm until 3am.

  • The Sarigerme restaurant does great Turkish and English food as well as nightly karaoke

  • The Dolphin restaurant is the largest restaurant and again does a mix of English and Turkish breakfast
  • and is more of the place to go if you want a bit of romance,

  • Further up you can find restaurants such as Mr. Remos, the Cardinal and the Paradise
  • all of which are reasonably priced and in the quieter end of the village.
  • There are tattoo parlors, a new reflexology shop, a specialist coffee house.
  • All the time Sarigerme is extending and developing to suit the higher number of tourists visiting

Summer is hereJ, life has returned to SarigermeJ. Everything in the village is now openJ. We actually had a couple of days of rain over the bank holiday, but that is the only rain we have had in the last month or so, and hopefully that should be the last of it at the moment the temperature is around mid 20’s to mid 30’s C. The first holiday makers going to the holiday village arrived last Saturday. All the pot holes on the road to Sarigerme from Dalaman have been filled in, so a nice smooth ride again. The chemist is now open in the village which is great if you need something quickly; however I have only bought one item from there, some painkillers and did find their prices quite high, so I would suggest that if you know you are going to Ortaca for the market day, wait until you go there for cheaper stuff. They were just starting to stock up when I went in but I was told that they would be all stocked up by now so that’s great and is handy having one in the village now rather than having to go all the way to Ortaca. The back road to Fevziye after they had made it smoother has once again been ruined by all the trucks doing work on the Hilton hotel, but they will soon be ceasing this type of construction work to comply with Turkish rules. The Hilton for those of you that are interested should be open in June they are hoping, however, don’t expect to play any golf yet. As for the village itself, the building work has been pretty much completed on the little bit that they were doing and we now have a couple of more souvenir shops with I think apartments above. One of the leather shops has had a facelift but still the same owners. Also the Dolphin has had a lot of work done to it, they have had new lights, new bigger music system, new décor, dart board, 2 table top football tables and an extra pool table so now 2 pool tables which is excellent, I was chatting with one of the lads that work there and their aim is to try and mimic an English pub, also they may be starting to do a karaoke and special nights like cocktail night etc. they have tried really hard and it is a great place to take kids, you have the little playground there for the small ones, and the football, pool table etc for the older ones, so a great family place, but big enough to be able to enjoy a meal in peace if you don’t have children. For those of you that like you tattoos, we now have two tattoo parlors open, the 1st one is still near the Sarigerme restaurant, next door to the jewelers where the Irish woman Karen works whom a lot of people know (she is back also which is great, she’s a great friend of mine and was showing me all their fantastic new stock they have in). However, they have a new tattoo artist, I have watched him doing a tattoo and he is good, from what I have seen. The guy Billy that was working for them last year, has come back to Sarigerme but has set up on his own just across the road from the silver shop and above the chemist, and I do know from personal experience is great with tattoos, he has done a couple for me, so now I’m torn …. Oh well great excuse for 2 tattoos this year J The new nightclub is a bit more out of the way to the actual village, instead of turning right and going into the village (if coming from the Holiday Village) you would carry straight on towards the beach area of Sarced, and its just past the next taxi rank, so getting back to the village or hotels should be easy enough. The nightclub is not open yet but is due to open on the 15th May so I have been told. Don’t forget if anyone is coming and would like to meet up for a drink or to ask questions, or get good prices in the village as I’m good friends with most of the people here, I can meet you in the Sarigerme restaurant, any Sunday from 12 noon onwards, and any Monday or Saturday evening, just pm me or put a post on our forum at www.sarigerme.net Until next month bye for nowJ.
